Thanks for your answer, but I think you did not understand me. I have created a brand new shared stream, which was shared by mail with my friend. My friend clicked on the link to subscribe and got the error message.
I am talking about new shared stream, not a deleted one. This articel states that this error message indicates share no longer available. Mine is working.
Any other ideas?

If someone shared a photo stream with you and then the stream owner deleted it or removed you from the distribution list, a message will appear saying "This photo stream is no longer shared." Contact the owner of the shared stream to confirm whether it's been deleted or to request a new invitation.

I am having the same issue!
I am also having trouble even simple sending the invite emails. I test it using my own email but do not always get the invte email. I get it once for about every 5 times I send the invite?
No one seems to know how to help....I started my own thread...
