Sim card tray stuck

Hi, at first sorry for my english..

My sister bought an Ipad (wifi+cellular) appox 6 month ago..
Recenty, when she was trying to replace the sim card, she couldn't pull that card out cuz it was stucked there so she went to Itouch resseler shop or whatever is it.. ask to help..
The tech-guy told her it happens.. and took device for repair/replacement and also told it will cost nothing cuz its common thing and device is still in the warranty period.. About 3 weeks later the tech-guy called her and announced her that inserted card wasn't original and that's why it got stuck.
Anyway the sim card was original (she has all documents saved)..It was the one, which u recieve as a gift together with an Ipad, when u buy it in the store.

After 20-25 days she recieved sms which says: Good evening, your Ipad is already repaired. Cost of repairment is 1234,- Kč (about 45 euros) your Itouch.
I did some research on the internet and found some prices of that tray and it seems to be little bit over-priced to me.. also found a few manual how to fix that problem in 5 minutes..

So my question is.. Is there any defence about what they did to her? cuz I think that guy just wanted to rob "dumb" girl..

or should she just pay it ..?
