got a used mac mini (early 06),no hard drive.put a new hard drive in.it won't load any operating system,tried tiger,leopard,panther,snow leopard-in all cases it ask for th prior operating system.i'm stumped????

What install disks did you try? What color were they?
What was the specific message you received?
If I recall gray ones are the ones that came with the computer and those will only work on the model Mac that they came with.
some disks are white,some are black.black and white tiger,black panther,white snow leopard,black leopard.okay,the message i'm receiving is that the previous os x is not present.i have no gray disks
That error message means that you only have upgrade disks. You need full install install disks.
You have two choices:
- Google to purchase a full install disks
- Call Apple and try to order full install disks. I know you can order the original install Tiger disks that came with the Mac.
