Q: Ipad turns on and off in a loop during charging, and won't turn on at all off charge?

My Ipad has been in a constant loop of turning on and off on charge for the past few hours, I really don't know what to do. I've had a few charging problems before (taking forever to charge, the computer not recognising it, saying "Not charging" for numerous wall chargers and generally messing up.) But today it won't turn on at all. I've got through at least ten chargers over the months, and I've had this Ipad since Christmas, so not even a year.

Basically, when it's charging (I've tried wall and desktop computer.) it shows the Apple logo, then boots up, shows the lock screen for a second, then dies, then repeats this process over and over until I take it out, then it does the "No battery" sign.

I updated to IOS7 a while ago too, about a week after IOS7 came out. Please help?

Thanks,

Georgia.

OMG WildChild7778 u are truly a genius!!!!! Thank u soooo much, thought I'd broken my iPad (was about to cry!) However, I fortunately found your advice straight away and followed your instructions to the letter. Can't actually believe it, but it's working again! Exactly as you said It would. Have slightly sore fingers from button pressing for 15 mins, but it is well worth it!!!! Thank u again xxxx

This worked for me, too, rodneypawns. Unfortunately, I'd let my iPad drain again (doh!) and was in the same situation - but this time, all's that was showing was the battery icon. I couldn't even get to the Apple icon let alone the 'spinny thing' in order to repeat your wonderful solution.

A friend suggested I place the iPad under an anglepoise lamp - the theory being the heat would help the battery. (I recall doing this with batteries as a child. We'd place them on radiators).

I positioned the iPad on a pillow about six to eight inches away from the heat of the lamp with the iPad plugged in and charging. To be precise, I placed it screen down, presuming the heat would get to the battery if it was focused on the back of the iPad.

I then busied myself with some work for an hour or so hoping that upon my return the iPad would have enough charge to load the Apple Logo, then I'd unplug the charger, wait for the 'spinny thing' and... BINGO! ... another metaphorical bottle of whisky to the great rodneypawns.

I approached the sleeping device with some trepidation. I slowly turned the device over, and there in all its wonderful glory... my Home Screen! Fully awake and showing a charge of 11%!!!!

I doubted. I was blind, but now I see.

All hail the great Anglepoise of health!

Disclaimer: Heat may be your friend, but remember: it was an anglepoise lamp with a forty watt bulb - do not put your iPad in the microwave or the gas oven, ever!

    Anvil.
