I have used Photo to Movie to make movie and eventually got it into the Movies directory on itunes (after finding out how to move it from Home Videos). All seems fine but when I try to access it through Apple TV it isn't there. Any ideas?
What is the file extention of your movie in iTunes.

That should work. I assume you have Home Sharing enabled on both the computer and Apple TV.
Yes I have. But I also set some pictures to work on Apple TV and they aren't showing either so I suspect it is probably a problem with Home Sharing.
A few other things:
Make sure you're looking, on Apple TV, in Computers/Movies and not the Movies App.
In iTunes Preferences/Sharing: Select Share my library on my local network and Select: Share entire library
You could also try restarting Apple TV
