May 20, 2014 12:54 AM in response to Csound1by drfrombris,You may want to take a look at aerofs as well. You can sync as much data as you like. I use it to sync between 3 Macs and a couple of linux machines.

Why are you telling me this?

May 20, 2014 4:39 AM in response to Csound1by kwash703,I like to use Pro Tools 10 and Logic Pro X on my laptop and iMac. I usally mix and work on the iMac. Now I'm about to start traveling more and I don't want to keep always hooking up hard drives and the whole nine transfering info. Is there any way to do this/sync so the information and recently updated files (sessions) would be the same on both machines, exmaple :
Work on a session in either program on my iMac. When I'm done working on my iMac, the session will save to my macbook pro automatically and I can re open it on my laptop and the session will be exactly the same (audio files, settings, plugins, etc)? Is there a program or way to go about this. This would be very helpful for me (like testing out a mix in my car via laptop or when I'm away from the iMac).

May 20, 2014 5:06 AM in response to kwash703by Csound1,I use 5 different Macs, an iMac at home in Chicago + 2 laptops (one is a spare) and in the UK (where I am now) another iMac and laptop set.
The documents, music, pictures and movie folders (plus a few others) are identical on all of them. If I save a file on my laptop in Chicago it is on the other 4 machines almost immediately. I also send a subset of the folders to my iPad. (The addition of a real file manager to an iPad makes it (for me) a much more useful device)
If I buy a new Mac I just have to connect it to the account, wait a while and it too becomes up to date.
If I have to use a public computer I can just login to the website and manually download any files I need.
I am synchronizing over 200GB and it has been flawless.
It's not free anymore , but not so expensive ($250 for 200GB)

May 20, 2014 5:26 AM in response to Csound1by kwash703,Wow thats awsome!!! Seems like it's a work house!!! So I now have it set it up. So it would be best to now save my sessions in the My SugarSync folder? Also if I have a folder thats exclusivley on my iMac(but not on my macbook pro), if I sync on my Macbook Pro, would it create/download the folder it's self or would I have to do that? Sorry for the newbie questions.

No.
Save your sessions exactly as you always do, the folders will be replicated (or updated if they already exist on the destination). My main objection to Dropbox type solutions is that you are forced to alter your workflow in order to accommodate their limitations, SugarSync synchronizes your existing folder structure and content to another machine (all platforms are supported).
Take your time setting it up, there will be some mapping to be done on the destination but major folders (documents music etc) will be defaults.
One thing to bear in mind....... If you delete a file from a synchronized folder or directly from SugarSync (the website) you have deleted it from every synchronized machine, but. SugarSync keeps the previous 5 versions of all files, so you can recover from any accidental deletion.
It is not intended to be a backup solution but it does include a non synchronized section (the webarchive) so you can store files there in a 'frozen' state.
A good idea when you firat use SugarSync is to just pick one non critical folder to sync, pratice with that. You will quickly see what does what.
Please remember that the initial sync will take a while (depending on the size of the data store), subsequent additins/updates etc are in realtime and SS is always 'on' delays are minimal but if you save a 5GB file on one there will be a period while it is uploading and then downloading.
