acessing apple tv without remote

We have misplaced the remote to the Apple TV, and have not been able to use it for several months. Since then my network went from a individual wi-fi router to a wi-fi gateway. How can you access Apple TV without the remote? I have home sharing setup on the Ipad & Itunes with the latest versions.
