Hoe do I open a doc with an extension: .scr
I received a fax that was zipped and unzipped it but it requires sotwaer that has that extion.

A fax? Really?
Normally, a .scr file is a Windows screensaver file, which you can't run on a mac. In the past these files were often emailed as an attachment containing a virus (for windows users).
