There never was a restriction on downloads from the App Store. Yes on software download but you always had the option to change it. I have always had an iPhone and never had issues until they came out with IOS 8.1.1. Now that I have iOS 8.1.2 I have this restriction. People get data plans for a reason. If cellular companies can't keep up with users they shouldn't offer the plans. As for Apple discrimination is a correct use as they discriminate to the working class who travel and don't have the time or luxury around wifi. Also wigo from ie: Starbucks, or bookstores is not secure. Hackers piggy back signals. I'm no expert but isn't that how many hackers have gotten personal information from people? If they put this restriction there should be a way to turn it off. I personally feel this goes against apples claim as user friendly. To go through the hassle of searching for wifi, or having to download to iTunes or just not purchasing I think most people would just not get it..at first. If I would have known there was a limit I would not have purchased my app. Now I have to wait 10hrs before I am close to my wifi, again defeating the purpose of apps and user friendliness and having a large data plan. Apple please have a shut off function on this as I understand the reason but restricting users only pushes followers to other products that don't ie samsung, HTC, android.
