iOS 7 Settings app frequent crashes

Hi,

Bought an iPhone 5 a few days ago and upgraded to iOS7 right away, since then I've been experiencing some random crashes under the Settings app.

For example, it crashed a few times once I got into the Settings>Privacy>Advertising menu. Then once when I deleted one of the apps via Settings>General>Usage menu. Additionally, I saw a crash when immediately after taking a picture with the camera I went back to homescreen and went to Settings again.

Initial iOS7 upgrade was done via WiFi, however i figured that a fresh restore via iTunes would help. Did a restore, the Settings app keeps crashing at random places nonetheless.

For the most part the exception type is EXC_BAD_ACCESS(SIGSEGV).

This is kind of disappointing considering the quality standards Apple has set for themselves. Any ideas for a fix?

Restore as new not from backup. Your backup maybe is corrupted. Sync your content back manually.

Thanks for a reply. As mentioned in the intial message, I already tried to restore "as new" via iTunes exactly as it is shown in the tutorial. So I did it, but the issue remains. Should I try once more? If so, why didn't the first refresh help?

Delete the IOS 7 from iTunes and do a restore as new again.

Mae an appointment with the Apple genius at your local Apple Storre for evaluation.

I upgraded to the 5S and was having issues with Mail, Address Book, Messages, Safari, Calendar, Settings crashing on a regular basis (among other things). I exchanged for another 5S, then a 5, and had the same issues. Now I'm on a 5C (brand new, no restore from backup) and the Settings just crashed 2 times in less than 10 minutes.

@ckuan I took my 2nd 5S to the Genius Bar for testing and the guy told me at that time that nothing was wrong with my phone and that he could exchange it, but that I shouldn't expect anything different. The Genius Bar rep also told me that just because I was going to a newer model of phone (i.e. upgrade from 5 to 5S) that I shouldn't expect it to work the same or better.

Well, if 5S is not better, then I don't know what it is.

5S is 64bit whereas the 5 is not.

There have also been 2 crashes that I didn't see, but show up under the logs for stacks+MobileCal.

Did you ever find a solution? I've had one noticeable Preferences crash and also the couple under stacks+MobileCal. I do not have other apps crashing on me though. I can say that this has happened on two separate 5S phones. Seems like it may be an IOS issue more than anything else.

I have same problems with my new ipad mini. Tried reset etc. Nothing works. Settings crash randomly

Just curious. Is yours an iPad Mini WiFi or WiFi+cellular? I ask because I just bought an iPad Mini WiFi and have had no issues with crashes on it.

Just wifi. preferences window crahsed out of the box as i bought it in apple store.
