I installed the ram but now my comp won't turn on. Also tried to install the old ram but it still won't turn on. And I am 100% positive this is the right ram to use for my mid 2010 white mac

Does it now power on or does it not boot up? Do you see any signs of power from the unit (fan, lights, optical drive)?
It does not start at all. I press the power button and it does not turn on. I do not hear the fan, the screen does not light up, it remsins black. When I attach the charger, the little green/orange light comes on the charger but the computer itself does not turn on
Sounds like your keyboard is unplugged. Check out this screen shot.
Where I have the red box is where the keyboard flex cable plugged in. Be sure that it is plugged in fully and the clasp down.
