Since my moblile me expired i am not receiving any more mail in my .mac account. Why?

Because you now need iCloud (or a different ISP for your email) and for that you need to be running Lion or above, which you can't on an old PPC G4 Mac.
Klaus, I think mail alone can be loaded, which would be through an IMAP account. You do need to find the domain name for the icloud e-mail though. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864 explains what is needed. But all the other features of iCloud are most likely only for 10.7.2 and above, which as you say can only run on an Intel Mac.
can i upgrade my icloud if i only have leopard?
