My iTunes is asking for wrong email

When I try and update an app, it's asking for the wrong email address/apple ID, and as it's an old account, it wont work!! Ive tried everything and all the settings are in the right email address so why is it asking me for an old one? I can't update or install any apps because of this and it's very irritating. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME?!?! 😢

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.

- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

You need to recover the PW for the old account if you want to update the apps

Is there a way to find my Apple ID Name if I can't remember it?

Yes. Visit My Apple ID and click Find your Apple ID. See Finding your Apple ID if you'd like more information.

How do I change or recover a forgotten Apple ID Password?

If you've forgotten your Apple ID Password or want to change it, go to My Apple ID and follow the instructions. SeeChanging your Apple ID password if you'd like more information.

I can sign in with my Apple ID. The issue is when I go to the App store and try to complete updates the pop up states to enter the password for an old Apple ID email. It's not pulling up my current Apple ID email. Therefore I can't compete any of my updates. When I go to Settings>iTunes & App Store I can see that it has my current Apple ID listed. However, it's not pulling in my current Apple ID email when I go to the actual App Store and try to purchase or complete updates.

Did you update your existing iTunes account, or did you create a new account ? If you did update the existing account, have you tried logging out and back in directly in the App Store app (e.g. via the bottom of the Featured tab), closing the App Store app via the device's taskbar, done a soft-reset/reboot of the device ?

If you created a new account, all apps (and anything else downloaded from the store) downloaded by the old account are permanently tied to that account, so only that account will be able to download updates to its apps.

I have the same problem now. After successfully editing my Apple id to remove last trace of an old email address/Apple and successfully changing the associated password, iTunes refuses to allow Ap updates (even free ones) and says its was purchased with a different account. iTunes store also stubbornly displays an incomplete Apple id, but refuses to accept the proper one and password. Tried several times logging out and back in, also removed unused devices from device list. Any suggestions appreciated.
