How do I close Microsoft Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent to allow software update? I click on "Try Again' the system cannot close them and I'm not sure what else to do.... Thank you.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

There is a way that worked out for me...when all the other systems didn't...😠


Using Finder, go in folder Application\Microsoft Office 2011\Office\ and look for SyncServicesAgent and rename it as Old-SyncServicesAgent.

You will get a warning message but continue and ignore it.

Now open Activity Monitoring (in Utility folder), look for SyncServicesAgent and stop it.

It will not be reloaded again.

Do your updates installation without any problem.

Before to launch, DO NOT FORGET to change back the name to the correct version SyncServicesAgent.

immediately it will be reloaded again and everything will work well!😁
