Songs won't delete from iphone

Ok so I have looked over countless threads with similar titles and tried all sorts of things but I can't seem to find a fix.
Basically, purchased songs just will not delete from my iphone (iphone 5 with latest ios update). Whenever I delete them, they just come straight back again, both greyed out songs and songs in black.

So far I have tried: Manually managaging songs, unchecking songs in the itunes library and syncing .. doing all sorts of tricks with signing out of my apple ID on the phone and then back in, I've gone to settings and to hide music, and yes that'll hide it on the device, but they're still there on the phone taking up space, you can see them when in itunes on the computer.
I've made sure that when syncing that my phone isn't looking for these songs anywhere, yet when I delete them it still manages to keep finding them and putting them back on.

Why is there not a way to have your phone completely clear of all songs and you can just pick and choose exactly what to put on like it used to. Now it seems to want to force you to have the songs that you purchased on the device.

in itunes on pc click name of device and go to music tab- uncheck sync music and then sync or apply at bottom

now go on phone and settings- itunes and app stores- under show all turn music off

now on computer check sync music - selected songs playlists- and select what you want ( dont use entire library)

and click sync or apply at bottom

Peace, Clyde
