spotlight-v100 is taking up majority of my hard drive

I have a mac pro 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual core Intel Xeon tower. The main hard drive is 250GB. I just purchased and ran a program called Daisy Disk to figure out what is taking all my hard drive space. I have a 500 gb hard drive in this computer as well and several extrenal drives. There are only basic programs on here. No pics, no videos, no large files. I do not save any thing to this drive. I only run software that has to be on this drive. Daisy Disk says that Spotlight v100 is taking up 130.5 gb by itself. I need a fix for this as soon as possible. Thank you.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Back up all data.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

/.Spotlight-V100

Right-click or control -click the line and select

Services Open

from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your administrator login password. Reboot, empty the Trash, and see whether the problem recurs.

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

Go Go to Folder...

from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
