Q: my photo set to home screen and lock screen is badly automatically resized, what can i do?

hi fellow mac friends,

before the new op system, i could choose one of my own beautiful landscape photos to set as wallpaper, and set to my home screen and lock screen. the photo's proportions were saved perfectly. now i've chosen a new, lovely photo, i choose it as wallpaper. next thing that happens is my image is blown up and cropped very badly, and i'm given the choice to "Move and Scale". so i pinch the photo to make it size down, back to its original proportions and uncropped, but then there is no chance to save it that way. i've held on to it with my left hand and tapped "Set Lock Screen" with my right, or "Set Home Screen" and "Set Both". nothing doing. every time, the desired (no cropped) size of my original image is lost. my wallpaper looks like crap as the op system decides to enlarge it ridiculously and randomly crop it. bull-crap. anyone else have this problem? me no likey. overall, really not impressed with the new operating system and its goofy looking icons, though i realize it's never easy adjusting to change when something is changed that didn't need to be changed.

sorry for the long message. thanks for any input!

best,

beth
