Q: FCP 6 - help out a newbie please!

Hi - I've been teaching myself FCP (v6 as I was given it free) and have created a video project. Unfortunately I set my scratch disks to my boot drive. So, when I transferred the project onto an external drive it appeared blank - as obviously, the project only contained the shadow files. I've now reset my scratch disks to point towards the external drive, so future projects will be safe. But for this project, how can I accurately transfer the rushes and the cut vision onto my external drive to the correct scratch disks?

Additionally, Larry Jordan suggests creating a second drive on your desktop. I can't work out how to do this - and indeed why, when the video segs are to be stored on the external drive. Any insight?

Thanks greatly!
