deleting TXT msgs in IOS 7.0.2?
I can't seem to use my swipe/delete on text messages in IOS 7.0.2 like I did in previous versions. Is it me or is there a new way I'm not aware of like the new way to close apps.
Thanks in advance.

There is a new way. Hold the text bubble down for a few seconds, and the delete option will appear.
OK, I'm dense.....I've held, the msg, pulled down on the message in the list, held the individual message, held the text icon down, opened the msg and held it down........
I know this is simple and I've got my German thick head on......but you're going to have to make this idiot proof directions please......😕
I knew it was a new way
I'm sorry. Instead of "Hold", I should have said this:
Simply place one finger on the text message bubble for about 2 seconds. Eventually, something should pop up enabling you to place a check mark to the bubble's left. Then you will see a trash can in the lower left you can click.
If you want to delete an entire conversation, you have to swipe from right to left across the conversation, then tap Delete.
If you want to delete a single message within a conversation, follow sberman's instructions.
I found it......plays to be stubborn. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Rocky,
That's what used to work, until 7.0.2. Not any more. Now you have to do it the new way.

I have 7.0.2 on my iPhone 5 and it operates exactly as I stated. Perhaps you were trying to swipe within the conversation, that you can't do. But you can swipe across the entire conversation to remove it.
Well now that's a puzzle......mine will not delete if you swipe right to left within the conversation or if you swipe across the entire conversation.
I don't know what to tell you. It will not delete if you swipe in any way....It will delete if you select "edit" at the top of the text messages and then choose the ones you want to delete however. So that puts a whooooollllleeee new pickle in the salad.
Could it be because I have a different model that you do perhaps?
This is really odd.

I doubt it, my iPad 2 on 7.0.2 behaves just like my iPhone 5 does, I can swipe across a conversation to delete it. Perhaps try a Reset or Restore?
