I have recently bought a sleeve for my macbook air. The sleeve has a small magnet to keet it close. Would this damage my mac?

Yes, I have those sleeves, theyre N32 gause neodymium iron boron magnets.

(I only bought the sleeves because they were $30 sleeves on sale for $4)

I wouldnt trust them. Can magnets damage anything, ....yes......likely NO.

As a collector of powerful magnets (yeah, wierd), I honestly would not trust same, however considering where they close over the battery and keyboard,...I say dont worry. 😊

No. A really huge magnet

Not true 😁

Ive got some tiny N55 gauss neodymium magnets only 5mm thick and 1" by 1" that I can ASSURE you I can damage a computer with.

How do I know? ive purposefully damaged some "old clunker" laptops with same.

Most people never handled high gauss Neodymium iron-boron ceramic magnets. They downright 'dangerous' near electronics.

In fact there are several people that have got a finger in-between a set of 1" by 2" by 2" N50 gauss neodymium and broke their finger in two. 😟
