Why isn't my phone showing up on my Ibook G4

So, i bought a new phone and i tried to hook it up to my Ibook G4 and it didn't show up. So i with to system preferences and went to bluetooth and pressed on devices and than set up a new device and i pressed look for new device and it didn't my phone, and i don't know what else to do. Any Help?????
