Oct 16, 2013 7:27 PM in response to Swall120by nbar,The external hard drive's file system is either corrupted, or more likely, the external HD has physically failed:
ioErr = -36, /*I/O error (bummers)*/

Oct 16, 2013 7:37 PM in response to nbarby Swall120,Thanks for answering nbar. The external drive is new, and the Genius Bar formatted it for me today. I will drag the "copy" to the trash, check the HD, and try again. The copied folder show it has 261.93 GB copied, but the folders don't open. Again, thanks for any suggestions

In there is the suggestion that the iPhoto Library itself could be the source of the error, i.e not a hardware disk error but a software error.

Jan 29, 2014 1:44 PM in response to Swall120by Old Toad,It's more likely there's a problem with the library like Eric proposed. Try his suggestion and if that doesn't help try Deleteplz's suggestion.
