Sep 25, 2014 7:28 AM in response to kfeeneyby dmarma,Issue confirmed. Happing for some time now. More on wired ATV than my wireless boxes.
During Netflix : Occasionally when on pause for about a minute
Hulu : Starting Video that does not immediately load
Streaming from iTunes
I have a feeling it IS related to network "hiccup" as I have seen it drop when loading flicker screen saver... however soft reboot seems a bit much to clear out the a network connection.

Oct 14, 2014 6:10 PM in response to kfeeneyby Thargs,Are you using Flickr for your screen saver? My two Apple TVs started rebooting when I started using Flicker. I changed back and I haven't had a problem.

Jan 1, 2015 3:24 PM in response to Thargsby Steve Owen1,- I Have his issue with my ATV 2 for a while now. I am using flicker for a screen saver, but not since the beginning of use. I reset the screen saver to nat ego to see if this changes anything.

Feb 9, 2015 10:36 AM in response to Thargsby richardsonheights,After reading this and turning off Flickr as the photo source for the screensaver for a while, this seems to have fixed it for me.
The whole photo screen saver aspect of AppleTV has been by far the worst part of the devices (I have both an ATV2 and ATV3). I finally gave up on the "share photos from iTunes" route because it would just get stuck on the same 50 or so photos (out of thousands) forever. Flickr seemed to do this better, but obviously it's screwing up the more important "pause" functionality. Like most things related to Flickr, it just kinda doesn't work.

Apr 2, 2015 4:16 PM in response to Delgadohby Rich62363,This is not a network problem as it does not happen when I watch content I purchased from Apple or when I watch my movies Or listen to my music. Only seems to happen with apps (i.e. Netflix, HBO GO, etc.). Any suggestions? Thank!

May 22, 2015 6:43 PM in response to kfeeneyby aarden,I suspect the AppleTV has a bug such that if you have it configured to use iCloud for screensaver images, and if you change your AppleID password without updating it on the AppleTV, then when the screensaver starts in an app the OS crashes. Outside of an app it seems to default to NatGeo images.

Jul 25, 2015 9:51 AM in response to kfeeneyby MMeraz,Wow! This post spans the course of a year and NO response and NO fix. Wow. I'm having the same problems but I'll throw podcasts into the mix. Can't get past 10 seconds before crashing to desktop. Every time! It's basically unusable at this point.
