It says my messages are taking up 2.9 GB when all of my messages are deleted?

I deleted all of my messages because it said it was taking up 2.9 GB of my data. After that, it still said they were taking up space and in the usage section it said that "saved" messages were taking up the space. How do I remove this "space" that I'm taking up? Thanks.
