The popup "Trust this computer" pops up everytime I connect. Every time, I select "Trust". just like in the instructions here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5868?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US . But it doesn't remember, it keeps popping up
The cable I'm using is an Apple cable, on a iphone 4S and IOS 7.0.2

I have the same problem. My iPhone simply does not connect to my computer anymore. I get this message, but the iPhone no longer shows up in iTunes. The machines will not sync. The phone, and iPhone 5S is running the latest software. Our second iPhone (same model) connects fine. How does software decay like this?
You must have said "don't trust" once. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5868.
If you go to Preferences in iTunes, Advanced pane, and click Reset Warnings it will prompt you again to permanently trust.
Restart your computer. A window will pop up asking if you'd like the computer to access the phone on your computer, then you answer the Trust question again with "Trust". Your phone will appear in iTunes.
Indeed this recommendation helps. Finally my pictures are being transferred again from my iPhone to my iMac. Had not been able to sync on all my devices since Jan 1. The problem is clearly with the iMac rather than my other devices. Unfortunately i followed Apple's suggestions before and hence lost all my network settings without any subsequent solution. Thanks @ culuriel.

Thank you. Restarting worked. I then went into iTunes. Selected my phone. Scrolled down to Options in the Summary panel and Reset Warnings. So far no more messages to Trust this computer.
This was the only article that actually worked. Version 10.10.4
