I downloaded latest imovie software.
My requirement is to copy AVCHD MTS files and modify in imovie.
Apple claims that imovie supports AVCHD but AVCHD is greyed for copying...
Help here.

AVCHD will work, as long as you shoot in 30P or 30i (also known as 60i).
60P will not work unless you use a third party program to process it before importing to iMovie.
If you are recording in PAL format 25P and 25i (50i) will work, but 50P will not.
How I am suppose to know if I recorded in 30p or 60p ?
I converted the mts file to mp4 but I see quality went down.
Any setting I need to consider for editing ?
My sony cx-380 AVCHD package folder does not import
