Can i use hd 1TB with G5 osx 10.3.9?

According to Apple, 10.3.9 will support up to 16 TB (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2422?viewlocale=en_US)
A search of the web indicates that people have successfully installed 1 and 1.5 TB drives into G5 Power Macs.
