I have recenty bought a new MacBook Pro (just saying, i know alot about Macs), and i turned it off for the night. When i woke up and turned it back on, my Dashboard was gone!! Even if i went to LaunchPad and clicked Dashboard, nothing happened. Please please help me get my Dashboard back!!

Try going to your Applications folder and see if it there, if it try launching it. If it launches it is still there. Close out and drag the Dashboard icon off the dock, it should disappear in a puff of smoke. Then go back to Appplications and drag Dashboard back to the dock. You may have had a bad alis this should recreate it, then try launching from the dock.

Try this, from Finder in the menu bar click GO/Go to Folder and type or copy paste this line:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.dashboard.client
Then drag that file to the desktop, logout then login, see if thst helps , if not drag it back to the same location, as this is not the problem. (a message will pop up saying there is that file already there, do you want to replace, click replace) Doing it this way you have a backup that then will be restored, if it behaves correctly you can then drag the one on the desktop to the trash.
DO A BACK UP FIRST

Or you can try this, from the FINDER window, holding the OPTION key click GO in the menu bar, then in the drop down click Library, then Caches, locate the file com.apple.dashboard.client and drag to the desktop. Logout, restart login and try Dashboard, if no joy do an OSX reinstall.

Alex Werner - I did the Finder Option-click on Go, and continued to follow directions. Dashboard is now just fine! MacBook Pro 10.9.4. Still have the com. apple.dashboard.client sitting on my desktop and may try putting it back. VBerg
If your Dashboard is functioning correctly, you should trash the file from your desktop, replacing it will replace the problem. The login/out creates as new file.
