When installing iOS7, iPhone screen flickers horribly

Has anyone else noticed this? After either an upgrade (on another iPhone 4S) or a new install on an iPhone 4S, the screen flickers to death with iOS7.

I can't test it's the OS since Apple's been kind enough to pull 6.1.3 from its authentication servers, but it seems that myself, family and others I know who have installed iOS7 suffer from this same problem. I can't even look at my screen as it gives me a headache.

Not only that, we have a special needs child in the house who loves looking and the iPhone as it plays music. He has a seizure disorder. Because of this problem, we must hide all Apple products in the house with iOS7 installed. He cries because he misses them.

Anyone else have this problem?
