Every morning i have a coloud with a downward arrow by a song. Sometimes it won't even let me play the song. I have synced my ipod touch and ipone to my laptop and songs are synced. But then randomly i can't play the ones that have the cloud with arrow. any suggestions?
iPod touch, iOS 7.0.2
It means the song was previously purchased from the iTunes store and is available for redownload. It won't play because it hasn't yet been downloaded. You can hide this by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turning Music off under Show All.
This should only happen with songs that are not stored on your iPod. If you synced music is somehow being deleted from your iPod you might want to post a question over in the iPod Touch forum because this shouldn't be happening.
It isn't deleting them. They are there....just sort of a grey faded color instead of black and it won't play. But I have had these songs for a while....and it wasn't doing that until I upgraded the IOS7.02
You might want to try deleting all of your Music, then syncing it back from iTunes. To delete it on your iPod, go to Settings>General>Usage, wait for the app list to open, tap Music, then tap ➖ next to All Music.
I tried that on my Iphone 5s and when it is plugged into lapton and i have itunes up and look at "On this Iphone" it says no musice but when i go to music on my phone, it still shows all the songs on my phone
Disconnect it from iTunes and check to see if you have any music on it after deleting it. If you do, you'll probably have to restore your phone to remove them.
I have unplugged my phone from the computer and closed out of itunes. It is still showing them on there. But like i said, when it was plugged into the laptop and had itunes pulled up, it said there was no music on my phone.
Sounds like something is corrupt on your phone, which would hopefully be corrected by restoring it. If you do, be sure to back it up first.

in setting<usage its not showing that there is music there.....but it does if i select the music icon
If turning off Music under Show All in Settings>iTunes & App Store doesn't remove them, nor does deleting your music, then something is wrong. Might have happened when you updated it. You don't have anything to lose by restoring your phone, just be sure you back it up first.
I just tried that and it worked....showing no music in there....so now if i plug in and pull up itunes i want to only put a few playlists on my phone. I tried that last time and it was putting songs on there that wasn't on the playlists i selected. Anything i could be doing wrong or somewhere i should look to see why it is doing tht?
If you checked "Sycn only checked songs and videos" on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings, you may be syncing checked songs in your library that do not belong to the playlists. If that's the case, unchecking the songs you don't want on your phone prior to syncing should keep them from transferring. But if you're still having problem with syncing music, you might want to post this question over in the iTunes forums. (I use iTunes Match so it's been a while since I've synced music with iTuens.)
Yeah i clicked sync checked songs/videos only....and then i went to the music tab and selected a few play lists and hit sync....and it didn't download all my music but didn't JUST sync the playlists....had random songs on there as well
Check the song list in iTunes to be sure those songs aren't checked. If they are, uncheck them and click Apply to resync.
