iPad sound only works with headphones

I have tried turning my iPad on and off (3 times!!!), I have tried cleaning the headphone thing (where it's plugged in), and I have tried plugging in and unplugging my headphones. Please help me I am frustrated

I tried every suggestion. Then just by luck I was able to fix my problem. I went to settings and sounds and found that somehow the ringer and alerts was all the way down to mute. I slid it up to higher volume and it worked fine after that. Hope this helpsUser uploaded file

If your volume icon that appears when you push volume buttons up/down indicates you have headphones in when you don't, this is the perfect solution.


Who needs fancy technical solutions when you have a thin, paper covered wire wrap! And the analogy of getting "wax outta your ear" is brilliant.
