ios 7.0.2 problem for iphone 4: safari crash (s)

At a commenting web column or news article, whether I sign into it or not, it will sometimes crash. When I expand the view or touch the comment box or touch the -- Best or New or Old -- comment display menu button, the entire screen, sometimes, goes black and returns to the iphone 4 main menu (iPhone 4 crash). When I return to the URL address, it has to start loading all over again. To comment, I have to e-mail myself, go to the library and use a library computer to post my comment. Once I tried several times on the iPhone 4 and was successful but, sometimes I can never post a comment or expand with a 'read more' button, etc..

From the main menu: swiping the screen from left to right (at the top) used to give me an iPhone 4 search line to type in.

Swiping down from the top - just below the pull down screen - now gives me the same search line.

Where is a list of new procedures which supersede the old procedures?
