Why does my Chrome keep redirecting me whenever I cannot connect to a website?

Hello again, Apple community.

I've noticed something odd about my Chrome. If I try and go to a website and I spell the URL wrong or it doesn't load for some reason, it redirects me to some webpage called DNS Solution Yahoo Error Handler. I've read some forums about it and I don't get a straightforward explanation on how to get rid of it. Anyone have any suggestions. I have no money at the moment, so anything that won't cost me a fortune.

This is not an issue specific to Chrome. It is an issue with Domain Name Server You specified.

--------

when you type a URL, like

http://apple.com

your Mac sends a "look up the number" request to the first listed Domain Name Server shown in your network preference pane.

continuing my example, it would return:

http://17.149.160.49

If the Domain Name Server is working, but the URL you typed is not found, the policy of the Domain Name Server prevails. In your case, the Domain Name Server YOU SPECIFIED returns a splash page telling you you are an idiot and suggesting you read these Ads.

If you do not like that, specify a different Domain Name Server -- it is your choice.
