imovie imports does not show in event library

Hello I imported 8 .mp4 video files in iMovie (latest version) just bought two days back. It took long hrs to import.

I do see thru finder that all my eight movie converted to .mov files but only three appears in the event library.

I do see my my mp4 file size was 1.5 gb but after import it converted to .mov of 6 gb.

Why it does not appear in event lib.

It take 4 hrs to import but it really frustating that imovie does not show any error but fail to list in the event lib.
