Why can't I download apps over 100mb on 3G?

Hi Borhan665544. The only way is to use a hotspot on another device.

When u want to download a program exceed bigger size that need to work on wifi than on 3g,i have try at times to download games and said need to connect to wifi to continue

Sorry, but you cannot change it. The store has a hard limit on the maximum size of what it will allow to be downloaded over any cellular data connection. The only solution at this time is to find a wifi node or download in iTunes on your computer via a wired ISP connection.

Not too long ago, the limit was 25MB.

Go to a place, like Starbucks, that has free wifi. Then download.

I've just found a cheeky way around this, although you need 2 devices

I've just connected my iPad to my iPhone over wi-fi using personal hotspot. The App store recognises that it's a wi-fi connection (regardless that my iPhone is using cellular) and allowed me to download a 258mb app.

If you can afford the data on you data plan, great. If not, watch your data usage carefully.

I'm currently on an unlimted plan and in the UK we aren't charged extra for tethering 🙂

But granted, if you are not in my position then people need to be careful. But it's an option if absolutely necessary.
