Have to keep restarting wifi on Macbook

This have been an ongoing battle since I have moved into my current house and this has been about a year, Ive grown increasingly frustrated with it and want to know why it is acting this way. I loose wifi signal constantly, but the bars never go short of full bars. Nothing seems to ever load and the only temporary fix is to turn my wifi off and back on. But I have to restart it almost every time I open a new page or try to upload something. It only acts this way on my Macbook, not my iphone or xbox, ps3 etc.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Does your Mac support to update your system to 10.8.5?

Larra, what kind of wireless router are you using? Is your home near overhead electrical lines? What else can you tell us about your physical situation? Does this happen when you are sitting right next to the wireless router?

Try the basics first:

Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.

Disconnect & reconnect your modem. unplug it for about 10 seconds. Plug it back in. Do the same for Apple’s routers. Wait for everything to reboot.

System Preferences>Network

Click the Assist Me button.

In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

Also, run the Airport Utility app which is located inside the Utilities folder.

After updating to OX Maverick, the problem has resumed in full force. I have again restarted my modem and router. Safari and all other updates are at a stand still. I have full wifi bars and the network diagnostics says my internet is working correctly. I took a screen shot, but I can't get anything to load at all and I'm a posting thing from my iPhone, where the internet connecting is working perfectly.

Suggest that you post over in the OS X Mavericks forums. I am waiting for the fan fare to ware off before I upgrade to Mavarick.

I had that same problem for the 8 weeks leading up to the airport card (or whatever it's called) dying completely. Now have zero wifi, finds nothing. Have yet to call apple.
