FWIW, I'd suggest getting the 30 day day free trial to test before making a purchase decision. It's very different than FCP6…and different than most other video editing apps.

There is no upgrade to FCPX, you have to buy it for $299.99. Yes, Russ is right, FCPX is very different than previous versions, I realized that I would have to start from scratch with it. Look up free tutorials online, there are a few good ones. If you try and just jump in, you'll get very frustrated very fast. Take the time to learn it before you try any important projects.
