Need 10.4.2

So I recently bought an iMac G5 to complete my 'G' collection,

Unfortunatly I only have Mac OS X 10.4 and the iMac (G5, iSight) needs 10.4.2 to function.

I have a version on 10.5 but I want to avoid using it.

Is there anyway you can combine the update with the actual OS on install.

Thanks,

Call Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask for an operating system specialist. Have your computer's serial number at hand.

Tell the specialist you need replacement system system disks for your model. The serial number is how they pinpoint which disk set you computer would have shipped with, and whether they have such disks still available.

There is a modest charge for shipping and handling of about US$16 per disc but that is much less that finding a full retail install Tiger disk set.

FWIW, I looked at my 10.4 retail disk set and it installs 10.4.6.

10.4.6 may be the only "retail" set of 10.4 you can install on your Mac, unless it predates April 29, 2005. Some may handle 10.4.3, but the age of the Mac determines which retail release you can run. If your Mac came with 10.4.2, it definitely can handle 10.4.3 retail, but not 10.4.0 retail, nor a "download" of 10.4.2. It must be the disc that came with the Mac, if you figured it came with 10.4.2.
