poor wifi signal

I have an iPad gen 2 since Feb 2011. Up until 8 months ago it worked perfectly. It started by having weak wifi signal. Now, you have to be within 5 ft for it to work at all. Other people have used their iPads just fine here, and our iphones work fine as well along with our laptop. What gives?? It started after the ios6 update I believe. Even updating to ios 7 hasnt helped. I have tried every trick on the internet. We even have a new wifi router.

  1. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
  2. Restart your iOS device.
  3. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
  4. Tap User uploaded file and Forget this Network.
  5. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
  6. Update your device to the latest version of software.

Best of luck,

Mario
