Dec 7, 2013 9:16 AM in response to patrick.frby Csound1,I think that your word is not to be trusted, and I know that you have been attempting to gain access to at least one posters personal address,
what else do I need to know?

you are not here to tell me what or not what not to do
you are not yet Mc Carthy
and i hope you have not any power to remove a post like this one
Leaving aside the fact that your grasp of American history is flawed, the only people who have the ability to remove posts are the Hosts. They do so when the TOU have been violated.
more interresting, if you reflect a little bit more, i think it's better for Apple that this discussion take place on this thread rather than a public place
It doesn't matter when you or I think is better. This is Apple's forum and Apple's rules.

Dec 7, 2013 10:22 AM in response to Csound1by patrick.fr,hi Csound1, Petermac87, Meg St_Clair, ...
very pleased to see you again and again and again ... in this post and to see that your are very supportive between you.
when i ask for petermac87 adress in order to send him posters, in french we call that "second degré"
i try to explain it for you :
"it means not that I don't really want his adress, i don't really want to spend my money to by posters and send them to him ...and to waste mi time to do it"
in the same way, when Petermac87 porpose to Feinmeister to "And you can put posters up around the streets." is his not serious
it's means that I think it is is not very helpfull in a technical thread when Petermac87 make fun of Feinmeister even though he call to order anyone who does not follow his interpretation of this thread rules"
be sure i have nothing to do wih your adress, or Petermac87 adress or other anybody adress in this post...
And when you write that THE technical solution has been found and thus the discussion is over you are very optimist
The only technical solution for both ease of use, ease of implementation would be an app who allow such a stupid guy like me to sync with wifi or usb, without any cloud, without any network
and without technical skills
have a good day

The choices are simple, but actually performing them is not…
- <500 words for iCloud setup*
- 1000 words to revert to an earlier OS
- <1000 words to setup 10.9 Server
- 2500 words to setup a Baïkal server
*It's abundantly clear this is not an option.
Reverting seems like an obvious choice when you consider Eltima is planning to release syncing software in 'winter'. Give them 6 months to fix bugs then consider an upgrade. Maybe other apps will be released too.
If it's a new Mac return it if it is 'unfit for purpose' (local product laws will apply).

Dec 7, 2013 11:03 AM in response to patrick.frby petermac87,Would you please stop asking for my address. Your posts have already been edited because of this. I will not be providing any personal details to you and your constant references are nothing short of stalking, let alone being against the Terms Of Use. If you can't stay to the topic and offer positive comments then perhaps take your own advice and leave. Otherwise follow suggestions here that others have been good enough to provide.
Cheers

Oh my!!! It's got 2500 words. I'm so terrified.
It's even got words like "and," "or," and "but," imagine that.
They also use "the," "a," "an," and even "click." Too horrible to even think about.

Dec 7, 2013 12:01 PM in response to Barney-15Eby petermac87,Dear Barney-15E, I found the word 'click' confusing and hard to comprehend and came to an abrupt halt in setting up my Baïkal server at that point. I returned to the start of the article and removed all words with less than six letters. My terminal commands will now no longer work. Why did Apple do this to me? Can you please completely rewrite you instructions in less than 500 words and send it to me? Thank you. I think patrick.fr has my address.
Cheers

Dec 7, 2013 11:10 PM in response to Drew Reeceby brollyjohn,If the other choices are too complex and apple doesn't address the issue (which they probably won't), you can try this:
- <900 word guide for switching from iphone to Android by Eric Schmidt
Just get one with a micro sd (which most have) and you can manually sync everything to your hearts content.

Dec 7, 2013 11:56 PM in response to brollyjohnby petermac87,Yes, and most unhelpful for those who come to the Apple Users Forums to troubleshoot their APPLE products. Anybody with half a brain knows you can use alternate hardware, and most also know they need to fork out big dollars again for another mobile device.
So this option is not over complicated, just expensive.

Dec 8, 2013 10:55 AM in response to Gerrit7by voline,Dear Apple,
I will never upload my contacts and calendars to any else's servers, excuse me "cloud". Attempting to force all your users to do so is unacceptable. Please restore local sync functions for iOS and OS X.
This is outrageous behavior that I expect from Facebook and Google, not a company that I hand hard-earned money over to for hardware.

Apple doesn't require you to use their cloud or any other.
