Dec 8, 2013 11:08 AM in response to volineby KiltedTim,You're not talking to Apple. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to upgrade to Mavericks or to buy a computer with Mavericks installed.

Dec 8, 2013 11:09 AM in response to volineby petermac87,voline, did you actually read this thread before replying to it???????
Cheers

Dec 8, 2013 12:32 PM in response to volineby James Richards,Hi violine. As I understand it Apple does not read what is posted on these forums which are user-to-user forums (except for the purposes of moderation). If you want Apple to register your opinion, and maybe do something about it then you need to go to their feedback page (http://www.apple.com/feedback/) and post your comment in any/all of the relevant categories. (Apple won't reply to you, nor will you be able to see feedback once it is posted.)
In the meantime, there is a workaround which has been posted and linked to on this thread, and for which Barney has posted a tutorial. I know it's not a solution for everyone, and it's not a total solution for me either, but it may help keep things going for you for the time being. James

Dec 8, 2013 3:51 PM in response to volineby brollyjohn,You're not alone Voline.
Some like to think it's exclusively a technical issue but we all know this is also a consumer rights issue.
It's like you brought your car to the mechanic for a recall to get your brakes fixed and they removed your air conditioner.
My last post was taken down but it wasn't even close to violating the TOU. I was repsonding to prodigious Pete who is "unpolite" which is supposedly a violation of the TOU.

It's not anything like that, nothing has been removed. But new parts have been supplied (for free), so it's more like they fitted 2 air conditioners, use whichever you please.

You last post violated the TOU and was removed because of that, whether you agree or not is besides the point.
I see this post had to be edited as well.
Tsk tsk.

Dec 8, 2013 4:50 PM in response to Csound1by Ryks,Do you realise that some people are actually watching this thread in order to get new information on this problem If there is any. And what do they get? 80 percent of folks insulting each other.
Some want local syncing back, The simple Way please, I'm among those.
some think it's ridiculous to complain about the fact that Apple removed it, okay.
Can you please agree to disagree and stop ppolluting this thread ? Both parts. Or
are you going to give me the "i didn't start it"excuse?
I mean, how old are you, come on !!!!!

Dec 8, 2013 4:52 PM in response to Ryksby Csound1,Both of my answers were exactly correct, if you would prefer fantasy answers then furnish your own.

More like apple took out your air conditioner and gave you a hand fan and a coupon for a free iced tea. Let's forget the metaphors for a moment.
They gave us new free parts that no-one wanted and that's why a big solution to this mess is the downgrade back to 10.8.
This discussion is going to get even more interesting once apple removes local sync services for apps, movies, TV shows, podcasts, books and photos as well in the future.
Thin client Mac future.

Dec 8, 2013 6:10 PM in response to brollyjohnby petermac87,Everybody wanted? Back up your comments or don't bother posting. Most don't want it. 320 million users can't be wrong. And that IS a fact you can Google.

Dec 8, 2013 6:28 PM in response to brollyjohnby Csound1,Can you not add, it's not hard. You had one set of iWork's apps, now you have two, that's more, not less.
You can now sync wherever you want without the tedium of cable, that's more, not less.
Or you can rollback to a previous state (from your backup) and wait until you get what you need. (like leaving the brakes the way they were)
Look it up.

Dec 8, 2013 6:45 PM in response to Csound1by brollyjohn,Ok, if you want to change subjects, let's talk about the genius of iwork.
Since it's great that I now have 2 iworks, Apple please give me 2 Safari's, 2 Mails, 2 Itunes, 2 address books.
Aw heck. Give me 2 of every application on my mac. That'll make my workflow that much better.
I think 3 versions of iwork would simplify things even more!
Hey Pete regarding those 320 million accounts you speak of If they're happy on the icloud good for them. But in 100 pages of this discussion, you and the troll gang are in the minority.
Remember the subject of this discussion is:
How to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.

Dec 8, 2013 6:51 PM in response to brollyjohnby Csound1,So now you want more free stuff, that's just self indulgent.
The function is gone, speculating about its return is pointless, a workaround has been offered in this thread.
There is no more than that at this time.
