Dec 29, 2013 11:24 AM in response to Armando Stettnerby Csound1,Sensible post (for once)
The question asked (How to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.) has been answered, workarounds have been offered and accepted or rejected per the users desires.
There is no other answer, but some posters seem to think that if they ask the same question enough times a new answer will be forthcoming.
Other than that this thread has become simply a place to whine, insult or gather amusement.

Dec 29, 2013 12:18 PM in response to Armando Stettnerby James Richards,… and some who have looked for workarounds. Notable among them Barney-15E who has posted a User Tip (https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6311) enabling people to set up local cloud-less syncing via wifi, either on their own home network, or directly between computer and mobile device. And some like me who go on banging on about it so that users coming to this thread might see among all the FUD that there is a possible workaround which might meet their needs. James

Dec 29, 2013 12:20 PM in response to James Richardsby Csound1,Barneys workaround is the only positive note in this silly thread, and it should have ended it for those who actually are looking for a way to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.

Dec 29, 2013 12:30 PM in response to James Richardsby gumsie,Yep, and there is more than one. Third parties are beginning to come up with solutions. So this thread has been answered but it is possible that the answer is not yet complete.
Really people are after a native solution I believe and if not then third party will have to do. All those people who belittle the problems are quite shortsighted.

Dec 29, 2013 12:34 PM in response to Csound1by gumsie,Dodging the point as usual. Barneys workaround is a good one but it is not the only one. The assumption you posted there is false. Really, I can't understand why if it's a silly thread you waste time here.
If it's been answered ad nauseum why not ignore it now an unsubscribe? (If your answer is that 'people like myself reply' to you, let me know and we'll call it a day).

Dec 29, 2013 12:36 PM in response to gumsieby Csound1,Where did I say that it was the only solution gums?
Please post links to the other ones.

Dec 29, 2013 12:39 PM in response to Csound1by gumsie,My mistake, 'The only positive note'. Any note that return functionality is positive too no?
Again though, if it's silly and has been answered ad nauseum why not ignore it now an unsubscribe?

Fun? Not sure what your comment means or what it's point might be. It's company based, it's work. Not really applicable.
I have to believe that a major - major - portion of those 320 million "users" are exactly like my wife - she "signed" up for iCloud because the sign up window popped up, and she filled it out but had no idea what it was. I might even venture to estimate that a huge % of iPhone buyers have "signed" up for iCloud, and use none of the services. Most folks don't know it's not necessary; they sign up because they think they must - Apple very cleverly puts the sign up fields out front early in the process like you were registering your new phone.
And yet, it still keeps breaking down, dumping user's data: http://www.macworld.com/article/2049803/icloud-hosted-data-inaccessible-for-some -users.html. One of many.
It's been c**p since dot-Mac & MobileMe. Apple has fired employees over it's pathetic blunders. So no, they haven't avoided any blunder yet.
And loosening iTunes impact across all devices is still a poor strategic manuever. It took years for iTunes to enable Apple to rule... it will take awhile for that rule to unravel.

Dec 29, 2013 1:01 PM in response to petermac87by gumsie,You again. Didn't you have enough the other day? If the topic is useless to you ignore it. The debate is not being flamed. The fact that it is over 100 pages long now should tell you something, (there are a vocal minority in every subject before you use that excuse).
Here it is. My cards on the table.
I would like local sync returned or a nice easy solution in its place. Barney's solution is good but I'm wondering what else there is. That is why I follow this thread.
Now why are you, (Petermac and CSound1), here? You've repeatedly harped on about the same thing. Surely you are bored given it's not an issue for you.
What. Is. Keeping. You. Here?

You do understand that it is none of your business, don't you?

May I assume that you have no data (except for your wife) to back that statement up.
Elvis is alive and driving a cab in Park Ridge, many people have seen him.

Dec 29, 2013 1:13 PM in response to Csound1by gumsie,Brilliant.
I've stated I have an interest and why.
You just give a flippant remark.
You I believe, use cloud sync and care not for local sync. No it isn't my business why. I'd just like to understand why someone who doesn't care about a topic keeps coming back to argue against it, smacks of trolling.
You can't or won't answer that though. Guarantee it. Come on money where your mouth is. 'Man up'.
