Mar 5, 2014 4:31 PM in response to Gerrit7by splatt3000,I've been following this thread for a while - but today I can't see any of the contributors' content on pages 198 and 199. All I can see is the person's name and date and then just white space.
Can anyone help? Although it has just occurred to me that given I can only see white space I may not be able to see any responses.
We'll see.

If Eltima are reading this: Many Thanks! If Apple are reading this: but then they aren't . . . .
Have you all considered discussing this on Eltimas forums?
If it is on their own site there is a good chance thier staff will see the content and if you discuss matters that were not intended to be public they can act upon it. Beta's usually have terms that don't want you disclosing some info (this one seems pretty open).
I'd hate to be in Eltimas support staff having to negotiate this massive thread for nuggets of info.
splatt3000 try another browser. It could be caches or browser extensions, so reboot & disable the extensions. It could also be your DNS or a proxy server so consider using another DNS server (GoogleDNS uses 8.8.8.8) & let us know what your network setup is like. Do any other devices show the issue and does logging out make any difference?

Mar 5, 2014 6:34 PM in response to Drew Reeceby splatt3000,Thanks Drew. The problem was on my MacBook and my phone. And I wasn't signed in on either. And it only affected the same two pages. I signed in. No change. I signed out and the problem resolved itself. Weird.

Does the sync log tell you why it didn't work?
The error message was very long. SyncMate apparently went throughly all my Contacts (though not in alphabetical order). Maybe these are the important bits:
2014-03-06 11:25:30.211 SyncService[20834:e2e7] remap identifiers failed with error -3, changes:
2014-03-06 11:25:31.338 SyncService[20834:e2e7] Commit failed for plugin ContactsPlugin and connection Skakagrall's iPhone (iPhoneConnection) failed.
P.S. I'm going to post on the Eltima forum as well.

Allowed? I've switched on, both at Contacts and Calendar, for my iPhone. Interestingly I've just replicated the non-sync calendar problem with my old iPod Touch. (Preferences are minimal with this software.)

On ML it's System Preferences> Security & Privacy> Privacy> .............
I've just thought. the way ML reacts may not be the same as how Mavericks does.

Ah. Interestingly SyncMate is switched on in 'Security & Privacy' for Contacts (which don't sync), but not for Calendar (which do).

Mar 6, 2014 4:01 AM in response to petermac87by fred242,As the data does not go anywhere except over a usb cable between your own devices, it's as good as the security on your own mac or iphone/ipad. Have just been trying the beta and it seems to work bidirectionally just fine. With this solution (?) it looks like this thread will be drawing to a close soon - pity we probably won't make it to the 1/3 of a million views.

Mar 6, 2014 7:59 AM in response to peter_wattby Skakagrall,In clarification, this was the actual statement from Eltima in November:
. . . Apple has excluded the Sync Service driver, which SyncMate uses for synchronization process, from the latest version of Mac OS X. . . .
However, I would like to let you know that we are at the middle of the developing process of our own synchronization driver, which will be included in the next major upgrade. It will make SyncMate completely independent from all future Mac OS modifications. As you may understand, the developers of the native Mac OS Sync Service, had all the needful operating system specifications, the access to applications' API's and core system components. And we are creating the driver completely from scratch, so the developing process is rather consuming and requires huge amount of resources and time.
We are planning to release SyncMate 5 this winter. . .
And SyncMate 5 (beta) is indeed now available for testing from http://www.sync-mac.com/subscribe_syncmate5.html

Mar 6, 2014 8:06 AM in response to Skakagrallby peter_watt,Deprecation of sync services was announced to developers two years ago. Why did they leave it until now? And they charge a fortune so they had the resources.
