Obviously the Moderators read the threads, how could they do their job otherwise.
Actually, they rarely do. They rely, as Tim pointed out, on reports from members who are Level 2 and above.
And when they get the report the thread is read, or do they rely merely on hearsay?

Yes, of course. What I meant is that they don't read preemptively. They only read after the report. Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant.

I am aware that there is a certain amount of heat on this thread, and maybe I might be better off starting a new thread, but this really is the obvious place to try and get hodl of the information I need.
I'd suggest that you do start that new thread.
Best of luck.

Nov 11, 2013 12:27 PM in response to ChrisW£by JoeS,This is the beginning of a non-Cloud workaround (although, as noted, it required a wireless connection via a wifi device). Similarly discussed here, http://www.macworld.com/article/2061183/itunes-ios-syncing-gone-solve-it-with-se rver-.html But, both ChrisWL's and the one discussed at MacWorld just don't seem to offer the play-by-play of how to set this up. While this is a sub-optimal solution (I prefer wired sync myself and hope it comes back!), this might work, if someone explained it better.

Thanks for the advice

Good idea ... tilted minds, uninformed (hello petersomething), and the extremists on both ends of spectrum made it really tedious and difficult to collaborate on a solution here.
I will repost the info I've found … see you there …

Good luck

So how do you sync without iCloud then?
USB cable, through iTunes. As I always have. Using Mavericks and the latest iTunes.
