Q: How to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.

I read that OS X Mavericks will no longer allow me to use iTunes to sync my iPhone to a local system but makes iCloud mandatory? Is that correct?

iCloud is not a valid option for me since I have no control about my data there, I need to keep all my data (contacts, calendar...) on a system under my control and so far iTunes allowed me to do that which was one of the reasons I didn't even consider Android or Windows Phone.

OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

You really need to keep your racist ultra right wing politics off of the forums.

What does ciu5781's post have to do with "ultra right wing politics"?

If you're going to rant, you should probably do so in your native language... Thanks for the laugh, though.

I back up everybody who who is rightfully concerned about his or her data being stored on servers of a company that is famous for its lax data protection. Yes, I am aware that Apple's henchman (and that includes clowns like you) will eventually report my posts and that they will disappear from this forum. But before this happens, there is a chance that others have already read them, or at least have received an email notification about it. The fact that Apple deletes my posts has a nice side effect: It shows other users the true face of Apple and their unneccessary censorship which hopefully keeps them from using their online services in the future.

Bekilted Tim: before you make baseless at hominem attacks, take a deep breath, read the terms of use which you are so fond of beating other people with, and try and keep to the topic, if you have anything positive to say to tthe vast majority of the posters here that really object to having their data collected by any third party.

Then it is time to engage a lawyer and do what you say you will do, so far all you are doing is repeating the same nonsense, time to straighten up and produce actions that match your words. Or are you just ranting.?

You do not have to use iCloud, or any cloud. The choice is and always has been yours. If you can't make your own decisions and rely on vendors to tell you what to do there are deeper problems to solve.

Apple has guaranteed that "more suitable" experience by limiting choice on the Mac but fully supporting Windows. Don't come down on this user because of Apple's decision to support Windows.

You did a good polemic job for general alexander. But you lost. Now go home and tell tim cook to set local sync on again.
