Q: How to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.

I read that OS X Mavericks will no longer allow me to use iTunes to sync my iPhone to a local system but makes iCloud mandatory? Is that correct?

iCloud is not a valid option for me since I have no control about my data there, I need to keep all my data (contacts, calendar...) on a system under my control and so far iTunes allowed me to do that which was one of the reasons I didn't even consider Android or Windows Phone.

As has been noted before, you don't have to use iCloud, so don't.

As has been noted before, that's nonsense. Read the title of the topic and come back later.

I think you don't understand what "nonsense" means in English. It does NOT mean "things I disagree with" or "things I don't like".

Your affirmation is scientyfically correct, and i do agree with you

we can also use paper to note our contacts and agenda... and also return to primary ages to make fire and not use lighter

but if we have an Iphone and a Mac and if we were using a local synchronization for years with USB or wifi

we are NOW forced by Apple to use Icloud to syncrhronize them

and many of us don't agree with this changement

Now that you can't sync with a cable you will need an alternative, or you can go without sync. At this time there are no options that do not involve an online service.

Read the title of the topic and come back later. Ironically, from the begining, we aren't trying to use iCloud no matter how many you are repeating same phrases lol. We already knew we are not forced to use iCloud that's why OP asking HOW to do so. Have you realize now how stupidly you are acting?

Not exactly. Apple has granted Windows the only non-cloud iPhone-to-host syncing service.

Apple deprecated USB local sync in iTunes on the Macintosh but not in Windows.

Apple reduced all Mac user's iPhone non-cloud syncing options in OSX10.9 but fully supports all Windows users.

It may or may not be true. One thing that is clear is that I don't arbitrarily use rules for self-satisfaction to self-righteously suppress unpleasant post.

This is the OS X Mavericks forum, try to keep (at least) to the same platform.

If you want to use Windows do so, and then post in the Windows forum.

That whole post just doesn't make sense in English. Apparenlty, there is a language barrier here.

Are those posted by same person?? Is this guy suffering from something? He knew here is Mavericks forum and they forced to use iCloud for sync but he keeps saying we are not forced.

I don't know if you are caring how people perceive your personality but that's just my 2 cents.

You do realize that you make no sense at all, is English your 1st language?, if not please post in whatever is, at least we will have a chance of understanding it then.

I don't understand why you linked to the thread we're both in, to a page on which I have no posts. And no, I am not particularly concerned with how you perceive me.

In the future, people who privately complain about the cavity searches required before entering any building, or about the see-through clothing mandatory on airplanes and public transportation, will have a name: privacy freaks.

I think Csound1 wants to point out that you can sync using CardDAV and CalDAV services installed on your local computer instead of using iCloud.

However I go for a simple solution, that's why I returned back to Mountain Lion and sync now again via cable.
