iPad with IOS 7 is suddenly unstable and crashes many times in a day. Had been very stable until 2 days ago no new apps added. Problem is worse on iPad 3 than on iPad 2. Anyone else having this problem? Possible answers or solutions?

Two days ago my iPad 3 and IPad 2 started to crash very unexpectedly. Both iPads have wifi and cellular and both are running iOS 7.0.2. I will be working and suddenly the screen just wipes to black and then the big white Apple appears as if I have done a hard reset. The iPads always come back, but the crashes and unexpected app closures are happening with greater frequency. It happens more with the iPad 3 than with the iPad 2. Until two day ago both iPads had been very stable. I don't keep a lot of apps open and I have plenty of GB of free space. I do hard resets after each event, doesn't help the situation. Did Apple do some kind of update to the OS in the last few days? I was just getting used to the new OS and this is very frustrating. Anyone else having this problem, have a possible answer or solution? Thanks for your help.

Try This...

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If the issue persists...

Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore

Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11) Installed on your computer

iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download

Try a restore first:

If that restore didn't fix things, then try a restore via recovery mode:

If all of this does not fix things, then clear the settings and preferences on your iPad. The data on the iPad is not affected, but you will have to enter your favorite settings and preferences again, including the password for your Wi-Fi router:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

I find it really strange that this has started happening to my ipad too at pretty much exactly the same time. I have an ipad 3 64gb with 3/4g. Exactly the same my ipad had been completely fine then suddenly started crashing and resetting 2 days ago. It seems to happen as soon as I activate my wifi. I have not attempted the reset options above yet as I felt it was important to mention that it seems to happen to mine too. A rogue software update perhaps?

Yep I have a 128gb iPad 4 and it has done this strange reset thing.

I have done very reset and erase possible. I even went through the pain of rebuilding my iPad from scratch as I thought my restore contained something that was causing the issue.

The problem is still there. Also my iTunes is SO unstable now on the iPad, crashing all the time, I have disabled iTunes Match, logged out, logged in, reset, blah blah, I can clear the issue for a day or two, then it starts to crash again!

Apple have really dropped the ball of late, I don't know what's happened to them....

Thanks for the post-it thought it was me or my iPad! I feel the same way, iOS 6 was not broken, I don't know why they tried to " fix" it. Wish they would revert back, although I know they won't. Don't know anyone who likes iOS 7, and have heard reports of many problems with similar or worse problems. None of the above mentioned fixes have helped solve the problem. They really dropped the ball, and will not admitt to the problems, none of the patches fix it.

Yes, I like iOS 7, no, I love it!

Now you know someone who likes iOS 7.

iOS 7 is running clean as a whistle on my iPad 2, and I would not want to go back to iOS 6!

Ask yourself the question what you have done with your iPad in the past.

Has your iPad ever been jailbroken?

Are you running one or more unstable apps on your iPad?

If none the usual restore methods work, try to restore your iPad using DFU mode. Search this forum to find the answer.

I lived that nightmare with my ipad2 since IOS 7. I have tried all the different remedies, reset restore from backup, restore as new in dfu mode. Nothing helped. It crashed a couple of times after the 7.1 upgrade. The genius at Apple say it must be hardware related when I took it in yesterday. This last week it has become more stable. I have not been able to isolate the crashing to I any one particular app. When I restored it as new from dfu mode it crashed repeatedly for about 3 minutes with only the default program loaded. Since it is rather stable at the moment I have decided to live with it. My iPhone 4s has not had a single problem.
