I recently upgraded my dad's Mac mini to Mountain Lion from 10.6 (whatever that was). Now iTunes won't work. When I click on the Dock icon or double click the icon in the Apps folder, it bounces once or twice and then stops.
Could this be a bad install? I'll reinstall Mountain Lion, but I"m looking for less drastic solutions first.

Try booting into Recovery and repair the disk and also disk permissions. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4718
Note that when you repair permissions, you will get a bunch of messages about iTunes. Ignore them.
Also, you Could just try the combo update. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL866

iTunes has nothing to do with email, so it's not clear whether you really mean that or something else.
Linc, when I read your reply I thought I was feeling better about myself as I have been posting replies to the wrong threads. I thought you were doing the same until I looked around a bit more and saw the title. It's still me, and probably worse.
