Saving photos from email to camera roll on iPhone 5

Why won't my iPhone save photos from an email to camera roll on iOS 7? I have touched the arrow at the bottom of the email with the photos in it and choose the option to 'save photos', but when I then look in my camera roll, they are not there. Can someone please help?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.2

Open photo from the email, click the photo to make it 'full screen'. Then, take a screen shot by pressing the home and on/off button similtaneously. The screen shot will be saved to your camera roll.

OK, so I'm no expert, but I've been stumbling around IOS7 and have had problems finding things as well.

Here is what I have done, seems to work:

open photo from email or text.

Look for icon at upper right, looks like a square with an arrow pointing up from it.

select that, and then select "save Image" from choices.

When I do this, it automatically goes to my camera roll.

Press and hold a picture you want to do something with. After a couple seconds a menu comes up with various options on it. Of which you can save the picture you pressed and held or all of the pictures.

With that said, the picture(s) that you saved goes into Collections of the time that the picture was taken. Whin view the Photo app under Photos. However when under Albums, it should be shown as the latest picture.

If you receive a picture via email or text message in ios 7 and when you press the action icon to save the picture and you do not get the option to save to your camera roll. Press and hold on the the image and you will get an overlay pop up to save the image. I have no idea why some attachments don't have option in action menu to save in the camera roll but by experimentation and earned frustration I found the above to work in certain situations.

Be well and have fun and feel rewarded in your frustrations. For without challenges, life would be an utter bore.
