HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
However, on 10.7 or later the Your Name/Library folder is hidden, so to get to it: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)

what do you mean by Go Menu?
and once i get into the user library do i just click delete?

Here's a way to make the library in question permanently visible:
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
